Ruben P. Sança, MBA, OLY is the Executive Director of Braven in Greater Boston, where he leads regional strategy and execution to expand Braven’s impact across the Boston area. In this role, Ruben works closely with higher education and employer partners to ensure first-generation and low-income college students gain the skills, networks, and experiences needed to secure strong first jobs and meaningful careers.
Prior to Braven, Ruben spent more than 15 years in various leadership roles within the University of Massachusetts System, where he led the development of evidence-based student success and health initiatives.
Ruben serves on the Board of Trustees at Fisher College, the NEICAAA Executive Board, and the Cabo Verde Olympic Committee Executive Board. A proud first-generation college graduate, he is also an Olympian, having represented Cabo Verde in the 5,000 meters at the 2012 Olympic Games, and is a Hall of Fame inductee at both UMass Lowell and the Northeast-10 Conference.
