Sissel Tan currently serves as a Program & Advising Fellow at Breakthrough Central Texas, a position held since September 2023. Previously, Sissel worked as a Paralegal at Samokhleb & Bitterman Law Group, P.C., and as a Graduate Assistant at both Penn Student Agencies and the School of Social Policy & Practice at the University of Pennsylvania. Notable internship experiences include work with UNESCO, where Sissel contributed to education policy development for early childhood education in Cambodia, and a position as a Student Legal Intern with the Massachusetts Trial Court. Sissel's academic background includes a Master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in International and Global Studies, Sociology, and Economics from Brandeis University, where Sissel held various leadership roles, including President of the Global China Connection and Student Union Class Senator.
