Josh Checketts

Josh Checketts has extensive experience in biology education, currently serving as an Online Instructor and Assistant Course Lead at Brigham Young University - Idaho since August 2018, where courses taught include BIO 181 and GESCI 101. Checketts has been an Instructional Assistant Professor at Illinois State University since August 2022, instructing various introductory biology courses. Previous positions include an Instructor at Sinica Education, where online AP Biology classes were taught, and a Science Teacher at Cyprus High School, where Checketts pioneered the Concurrent Enrollment Biology course and implemented proficiency-based grading. Additionally, Checketts has held coaching roles, notably increasing team participation in wrestling and achieving competitive success. Education includes a Ph.D. in Gene/Genetic Therapy from UT Southwestern Medical Center and a BS in Biology from the University of Utah.
