Steven Hayes

Steven Hayes is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as Engineering Director and Plant Manager at British Steel, overseeing all engineering operations at the Appleby Coke Ovens, a top-tier COMAH site, since May 2016. Previously, Steven held roles as Plant Engineer and Lead Electrical/Improvement Engineer at the same facility, managing various technical aspects including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems. Prior to joining British Steel, Steven worked at Tata Steel from August 2007 to May 2016 as an Electrical Engineer and Electrical Team Leader, focusing on maintenance and management within a 24-hour coke production environment. Steven holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Hons) from Sheffield Hallam University, along with an HND and HNC in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from North Lindsey College.
