John Cournoyer

John Cournoyer is currently the EVP of Construction, Design & Development Administration at Brookfield Properties. John has over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry.

Cournoyer began their career as a Project Manager, Commercial Design/Development at Robinson Green Beretta Corp. In 1995, they joined Forest City Ratner Companies as their Vice President of Development. John was promoted to Senior Vice President of Development in 2002 and held that position until 2011. Cournoyer then joined General Growth Properties as their Director of Development. In September 2001, they became the Director Of Development at Starwood Wasserman. John remained in that role for a year until they returned to Forest City Ratner Companies as their Senior Vice President of Development.

Cournoyer has been with Brookfield Properties since January 2011 and currently serves as their EVP of Construction, Design & Development Administration.

John Cournoyer holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University in the City of New York, a Master of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design. John also has a minor in Economics from Bennington College.

John Cournoyer works with Kathy Rugebregt - SVP, Human Resources, James Cummings - EVP, Chief Accounting Officer, and Adam Tritt - EVP, Development. John Cournoyer reports to Jared Chupaila, CEO.
