Simerjeet Gill is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience at Brookhaven National Laboratory since August 2010, currently serving as Deputy Chair of the Nuclear Science and Technology Department. In this role, Simerjeet has focused on characterizing materials under extreme environments for next-generation energy systems and exploring new fluid systems for enhanced geothermal systems. Prior to this, Simerjeet worked as a Research Assistant at Texas Tech University from January 2005 to January 2007, where research involved synthesizing novel highly porous assemblies of chalcogenide nanoparticles, as well as utilizing luminescent semiconductor and core-shell nanoparticles for applications in light-emitting devices and sensing heme-proteins. Simerjeet holds a PhD in Inorganic/Materials Chemistry from Texas Tech University.
