Coles’s experience includes representing Wyeth in its class action settlement of nationwide product liability litigation. Coles analyzes and tracks the processing and payment of claims within the class action settlement by the multi-billion dollar settlement trust. She also investigates and resolves disputes in the settlement of these claims as they arise. She has helped to develop and manage a process to track and measure this impact on the client’s financial obligations under the nationwide class action settlement agreement. She also advises the client on its complex duties under this comprehensive agreement. Coles’s former practice primarily involved advising and defending manufacturers and distributors against claims arising out of alleged product defects. She also handled contract, trademark and professional conduct matters for an international association of financial analysts.

Upon graduating from law school, Coles served as Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Richard S. Bray. Coles researched, analyzed and evaluated arguments on appeal. Additionally, she prepared summaries of appeals, drafted opinions supported by case research and reviewed all opinions issued by the Court. While in law school, Coles participated in the investigation and prosecution of honor violations as a member of the Grievance Committee of the Honor Court. She also held the position of Associate Editor on the Executive Board of the University of Richmond Law Review.

Coles is a past chairperson for the Social Committee of the Bar Association of the City of Richmond, Young Lawyers Division. She is also an active member of the Junior League of Charlottesville.
