Ludovic Malfait

Ludovic Malfait is a seasoned professional in advanced media systems and telecommunications with extensive experience at Dolby Laboratories since April 2012, currently serving as a Senior Member Research Staff. Ludovic's work focuses on enhancing media streaming by leveraging user environment and behaviors, including the development of a real-time adaptive video streaming service prototype. Prior roles include leadership positions in research and standardization of spatial audio conferencing at Dolby, as well as key contributions to ITU-T committees where Ludovic serves as a rapporteur and vice-chairman. With a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Electronic Systems Engineering from the University of Essex and a Master's equivalent in Telecom Engineering from Télécom Lille, Ludovic has developed expertise in both objective and subjective audio quality assessment over a career spanning more than two decades.
