Catherine Melvin

Catherine Melvin is an experienced educator and freelance illustrator with a background in graphic design. Currently serving as a Substitute Teacher at Buncombe County Schools since February 2024 and a Preschool Teacher at Verner Center for Early Learning since September 2023, Melvin has previously held positions such as Assistant Preschool Teacher at Black Mountain Presbyterian Church Weekday School and Long Term Substitute Teacher with Loudoun County Public Schools. Early career highlights include roles as a Proposal Coordinator for Compass Group and Prepress Manager at Pip Printing. With a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Appalachian State University and a Teaching License in Elementary Education from Shenandoah University, Melvin combines artistic skills with a passion for early childhood education.
