Aki Soga

Aki Soga has extensive experience in journalism, currently serving as the Executive Editor and Engagement and Insights Editor at Burlington Free Press since June 2018, directing local news coverage and supervising multimedia content production. Prior roles include Reader Engagement Editor, where responsibility included fostering community interaction through print, online, and social media, and Editorial Page Editor, focusing on editorials and community engagement. Aki's career began at Burlington Free Press in various roles, including Business Writer and Features Reporter, and included significant positions such as Correspondent for Knight Ridder Financial News in Tokyo and Reporter/Copy Editor for Asahi Evening News. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kalamazoo College. Aki has also held leadership roles within organizations like UNITY: Journalists of Color and the Asian American Journalists Association.
