Shane Williams

Shane Williams is the Chief Technology and Product Officer at CAIS, a role they have held since October 2020. Prior to this, Shane was Head of Client Technology at AQR Capital Management from August 2018 to October 2020. In this role, Shane was responsible for customer facing/business development (sales, marketing, service) technology for retail and institutional clients (+ client data and analytics).

Before AQR, Shane spent 12 years at UBS, where they were Co-head of the SmartWealth Digital Investment Platform. Shane led and delivered the award winning digital B2C regulated goal based investment platform (robo advisor) from concept to launch. Shane bridged the technical and business teams to provide best time to market.

The SmartWealth platform was a full end to end implementation from acquisition to goals based investment, rebalancing and client service. Shane's work required collaboration across the company with marketing, legal, compliance, finance, engineering, design and cyber security. Shane was responsible for market analysis, value proposition (assumptions validated with research), marketing framework, functional and non-functional requirements (Backlog, MVP and roadmap), definition of personas and customer journey, "test-and-learn" approach, multi-variant (a/b) testing with feature switches, machine learning for marketing attribution and optimization.

Shane Williams has a Master's degree in Engineering from The University of Manchester and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from The University of Manchester. Shane also has a certification from LinkedIn in Prepare for the AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate) Exam (SAA-C01).

Shane Williams reports to Matt Brown, Founder, Chairman, & CEO. Shane Williams works with Brad Walker - Chief Client & Product Development Officer, Tim Shannon - President & CFO, and Michael Richman - General Counsel. Some individuals on their team include George Davies - Head, Data, Deepak Puri - Director, Technology Business Management, and Mark Evans - Managing Director, Platform & Operations Technology.
