Ben West

Ben West is an experienced educator and union advocate with a strong background in science education and leadership within various educational institutions. Currently serving as Regional UniServ Staff at the California Teachers Association since February 2020, Ben supports local unions in organizing, negotiations, and political campaigns. Prior roles include teaching science at Santa Paula Unified School District and Green Dot Public Schools, where Ben also held significant leadership positions within the teachers union, representing over 630 educators. Ben's experience includes serving as a seasonal Education Interpreter at the Aquarium of the Pacific, alongside teaching positions at Thurgood Marshall Academy and Cesar Chavez Public Charter School. Ben holds a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in Marine Science/Chemistry from the University of Miami.
