CAMINAR

Steven Gilbert, BSEE, MSEE, joined Caminar in 1996 as Director of Information Technology.  He brings experience as a senior avionics system engineer at [General Dynamics](/org/general-dynamics), and as a computer sales and service company founder and owner.  Steven is also the developer and co-owner of Caminar Software Inc., a behavioral healthcare electronic health record and claims software company that was founded in 1996, grew to nationwide prominence, and eventually sold in 2009.  Steven continues to consult as the primary developer for the Caminar Software product, which still serves as Caminar's electronic health record and practice management software.  He has extensive experience in Microsoft Windows networks, including deploying Exchange, Lync, SharePoint, Remote Desktop Host, Threat Management Gateway, Active Directory Federation, and Active Directory Rights Management servers.  

Steven has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from [Texas Tech University](/org/texas-tech-university), and a Master's degree in Electrical  Engineering from [Southern Methodist University](/org/southern-methodist-university). 

Steven Gilbert

Linda was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and immigrated to the United States in 1960. Linda attended [San Diego State University](/org/san-diego-state-university) before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, where she worked as a medical assistant and office manager. She and her husband, Richard, have been Hillsborough residents for over 30 years. Together they have five children and four “amazing” grandchildren.  

Linda enjoys traveling, reading, Pilates, and lots of family time. She was involved in her children’s schools and activities, as they were growing up. Later, she joined auxiliaries of several nonprofit organizations, such as Community Service League of San Mateo County and the Family Service Auxiliary. At Family Service, Linda served as President and helped launch a pilot mentoring program called Opening Doors. She also is a supporter of CASA’s services for at risk children, and CORA’s services for families involved in domestic abuse. Linda currently also serves on the executive board of Community Gatepath. 

Over the past few years she finds herself drawn to organizations involving mental health and disabilities. In Linda’s words: “In this incredibly advanced society of high tech, computers and cellphones, it is easy to feel disconnected and adrift.” She believes strongly in the mission of Caminar and the role it plays in providing much needed support for those living with mental health issues.

Linda Leao

A licensed psychologist for 25 years and senior leader/executive for 15 years, Dr. Rawley developed a deep understanding of quality needs, clinical services, and operations while overseeing residential, day treatment, shelter-based, and outpatient mental health and substance use treatment programs. An early proponent of whole-person care, while working at an integrative medicine/psychology clinic she presented her innovative research on biopsychosocial assessment of obstetrical risk at the [American Psychiatric Association](/org/american-psychiatric-association)’s annual meeting/conference.

Dr. Rawley supports strengths and resiliency-based, person-centered, trauma and feedback-informed services and continuous improvement at all organizational levels. Hired at Caminar in 2013, she designed internal control systems that improved documentation audit compliance from 60% to 95% in under 12 months; regional teams have since attained zero audit disallowances.

Ann is skilled in whole system quality (planning, improvement, management), implementation science, and measurement-informed services. A Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, she creates and expands research-based improvement initiatives and pilot projects. These collaborations support best client and clinical outcomes, organizational excellence, employee well-being, and community health.

Ann Rawley

Mark Cloutier became CEO of Caminar on January 31, 2019. Mark has dedicated his career to increasing access to quality health and supportive services for underserved communities and improving the overall health and well-being of individuals and families. He brings to Caminar extensive experience in organizational leadership, fundraising, financial and talent management, public policy, and strategy development. Prior to joining Caminar, Mark held leadership roles in major health organizations and foundations, including Horizons Services, the San Francisco Foundation, the Center for Youth Wellness, Kaiser Family Foundation, and [San Francisco AIDS Foundation](/org/san-francisco-aids-foundation). 

As CEO, Mark leads a $42M organization of close to 500 employees that served more than 18,000 people last year in the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. 

A longstanding Bay Area resident, Mark is a graduate of Lewis and Clark College and earned his Master of Public Policy and Master of Public Health degrees at the University of California at Berkeley. He has authored a number of articles and recently co-authored “Prevent, Screen, Heal: Collective Action to Fight the Toxic Effects of Early Life Adversity.”

Mark also serves on the Board of Directors of Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation.

Mark Cloutier

As Medical Director, Dr. Ritchie oversees psychiatric services and clinical operations across all five of Caminar’s regions.

Dr. Ritchie brings nearly 30 years of clinical experience to Caminar and has dedicated his career to helping the severely and persistently mentally ill of primarily under-served populations. Before assuming his current role, Dr. Ritchie served as staff psychiatrist in our Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Jail Psychiatry Service, vice chairman of the Department of Psychiatry of SCVMC, and as chief psychiatrist and medical director for the Salinas Valley State Prison Psychiatric Inpatient Program. Dr. Ritchie has also maintained a small private practice in Los Gatos. 

A board-certified psychiatrist, Dr. Ritchie earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and completed his internship and residency in adult psychiatry at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Upon completion, he served as medical director of the Psychiatric Emergency Service at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Subsequently, he returned to New Orleans to be a ward chief at Charity Hospital and medical director of the Outpatient Clinic. Following that, he served as assistant medical director of the DePaul-Tulane Psychiatric Hospital and E.C.T. program before returning to California. He has earned two Master of Psychopharmacology certifications from the Neuroscience Education Institute. Dr. Ritchie has also authored and co-authored publications on psychiatry and schizophrenia. 

Mark Ritchie

Rebecca (Becky) Gaba, Ph.D. joined Caminar in July 2019, bringing 30 years of experience in community mental health and substance use treatment to her leadership role in Solano County. Prior to joining Caminar, Becky held various executive and senior leadership positions, including vice president of clinical pperations,  chief of clinical programs and services, and vice president of best practices for large non-profit organizations.

Becky earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Mt. St. Mary’s College and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Graduate School of Psychology, Fuller Seminary. She is also a Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist.

During her career, Becky led efforts to design and implement innovative programming across a broad spectrum of services to underserved populations. She managed various programs for outpatient mental health with children and families, Transitional age youth, adults and older adults, crisis residential services, and substance use treatment. Her research experience includes the impact of community violence on children and youth, children exposed to domestic abuse, practice-based research, and integration of adult mental health, substance use, and primary care with publications in these areas.

Becky has served on numerous county initiatives for the implementation of evidence-based practices and outcomes, statewide family violence prevention efforts, and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network.

Rebecca Gaba

Belinda Hanson has practiced family law for 22 years. Belinda is a Certified Family Law Specialist, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. She has been recognized in "Best Lawyers in America" yearly since 2002, and in 2010 was named "San Francisco Area Family Lawyer of the Year" by Best Lawyers. In addition to being listed among Northern California's "Super Lawyers" by the Northern California Super Lawyers publication each year since 2004, she has also been included in the "Top 50 Northern California Female Super Lawyers" and the "Top 100 Northern California Lawyers."

Belinda served on the board at the Thacher School in Ojai from 1994 to 2003 and most recently on the Peninsula Family Service Board in San Mateo from 2009 to 2012.  

Belinda Hanson

Rod is a founding principal and leads the Property and Casualty practice at [ABD Insurance and Financial Services](/org/abd-insurance-and-financial-services). He has 30 years in the commercial insurance industry, where he spent the first 10 years on the carrier side specializing in the design and management of large alternative risk workers’ compensation financial plans. In 1994, Rod joined the insurance broker community where he continued his focus on Worker's Compensation but also quickly established himself as an expert on Property & Casualty, E&O/Cyber Liability, and Executive Liability, including IPO risks. Rod currently specializes in risk management and strategic oversight for clients’ global insurance programs. He is recognized as a leader and designer of innovative risk management plans for emerging and disruptive technology, life sciences, shared economy, and rapid growth clients. He is regularly invited to participate as a speaker at industry conferences and the development of new insurance products. Risk & Insurance Magazine recognized Rod as a "Top Power Broker." 

He earned his business degree from Cal  Poly Pomona. Rod participates in many community activities, such as coaching youth sports and supporting local non-profit organizations.

Rod Sockolov

Prior to becoming Director of Jobs Plus, Michael served in numerous leadership positions during his tenure at Caminar, including Job Developer, Assistant Director, Director of a Residential Rehabilitation Program, and Mental Health Counselor.  With his extensive leadership experience in managed health care, he has experience in working with health care providers, public hospitals, state agencies, county agencies, and outreach programs. Michael has a far-reaching knowledge of government administration, vocational counseling, sales and marketing, human resources, training, and public relations.

Michael has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Cal State Hayward and is a Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner. 

Michael Schocket

Barbara is the Chief Operating Officer of Andrew B. Menkes, MD & Associates. Inc. The core of her forty-year career is in healthcare and management consulting. Barbara’s healthcare experience ranges from ICU bedside nursing to executive sales and operational management at Hill-Rom to founding and leading a Dermatology & Cosmetic Clinic. Her management consulting focus was aimed at accelerating performance in all aspects of sales, sales management, and communication processes for Grainger, [Boston Scientific](/org/boston-scientific), and AAG -- all multi-billion dollar companies in a variety of industries. 

Relevant volunteer experience includes Streetsmart4KIDS™’ Board President where she built the organization; Menlo High School’s Connections Beyond the Classroom chair and founder where she developed the infrastructure, formalized the mission and goals, and managed growth and development of the team; as Board Member & Education Chair for Mills Peninsula Hospital Women’s Health Council created the bylaws, established committees and membership functions; and as Board Member and President of the Peninsula Temple Beth El’s Religious School Board restructured the Religious School Administration. 

Barbara graduated from [Boston University](/org/boston-university) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Barbara Patterson

Before joining Caminar in January 2021, Ben led transformational change in various hospital, health plan, and medical group settings. He has held positions at such organizations at [Kaiser Permanente](/org/kaiser-permanente), the [Health Plan of San Joaquin](/org/health-plan-of-san-joaquin), and Accenture Consulting’s healthcare practice. Ben is a passionate, mission-driven steward and joined Caminar to create the financial infrastructure needed to facilitate growth and expand organizational impact through new business partnerships.

Originally from Texas, Ben studied Finance and Philosophy at [Southwestern University](/org/southwestern-university). After completing his MBA, he published the paper “Validation of the moral competency inventory measurement instrument: Content, construct, convergent and discriminant approaches.” Ben recently began doctoral studies in business at St. Ambrose University, and his research interests include high-performing teams and leadership.

Ben Austin

Betsy joined the Caminar board in 2014. She has over 30 years of experience in marketing and management with a proven track record of developing disciplined approaches to marketing, strategy, and company stewardship. She began her business career overseas with The Boston Consulting Group before joining Apple Computer, where she led marketing for Apple’s K-12 Education business. Betsy then joined Paramount Communications as VP Marketing of their educational software division before becoming General Manager of Paramount Interactive, an internal technology start-up. She left here to join an early internet start-up, OnLive Technologies, first as VP Marketing and subsequently as CEO. Since 2004, she has worked as a management consultant providing strategic market-driven advisory services to help companies and non-profits fuel their ideas with smart market decisions and successful business results. 

Betsy is an active, enthusiastic volunteer in the community and is a long-standing volunteer for Peninsula Family Service, where she previously served on the Board of Directors. Betsy received her BA from [Brown University](/org/brown-university) and her MBA from the Yale School of Management.

Betsy Pace

Lauren Grey, LMFT, ATR, joined Caminar's Family & Children Services of Silicon Valley (FCS) division in Santa Clara County in 2016. Lauren brings years of experience as a trauma-informed therapist and clinical leader to the behavioral health services provided at FCS. She uses her extensive clinical training and knowledge of community needs to develop programs and expand the behavioral health services available in the Santa Clara region. Lauren has a specific focus on program growth to support our very diverse communities, including specialty and at-risk populations like Deaf and hard-of-hearing, LGBTQ, victims of domestic violence, and adolescents.   

A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Art Therapist (ATR), Lauren earned her master’s degree in marriage and family therapy and art therapy from [Notre Dame de Namur University](/org/notre-dame-de-namur-university). As an art therapist, Lauren is passionate about how art-making and music can be healing and therapeutic. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys creating art, spending with her family, and gardening. 

Lauren Grey

Karen Gianuario joined the organization in September 2013 as Senior Director of Business Development and Operations. She brings over 25 years of experience in the private, for-profit sector from her tenure at See’s Candies, where she held positions of progressive management responsibility in the areas of procurement, operations, product, and product line development. Karen served as the Director of Procurement for her final 10 years with the company.

Karen Gianuario

Frank Vento is a native of California’s San Mateo County and grew up on the San Francisco Peninsula. He worked in the family businesses which was a strong influence in shaping his work ethic and relationship building. He became a licensed Realtor in 2001, later receiving his broker’s license and certified CRS designation. Frank is active in real estate on the Coastside and Peninsula. Currently he manages Intero Half Moon Bay office. Elected by his peers to serve on the the Realtor San Mateo County Board of Directors (SAMCAR) for three years. After his tenure, he continues to volunteer on special events committee with  SAMCAR.

Having lived on the coast since the 1980’s, Frank was presented with many opportunities for community outreach work. As a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Half Moon Bay for over two decades, he has been active in helping with youth camp, outreach mission projects, and Pumpkin Festival food booth. He has been also been asked to serve on numerous service committees and currently is on the Board of Trustees. He currently serves as President of the Native Sons of the Golden West Parlor #230 in Pescadero, California. This organization is a plays a major role in helping preserve California history. 

Frank is a long time supporter of Caminar, having a brother-in-law who is a client fortunate enough to be the beneficiary of the many life-changing benefits Caminar's programs have to offer. Frank believes in giving back, and views board service as an opportunity to be an integral partner with the Caminar organization.

Frank Vento

Kevin is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Gladly, a technology company that empowers people to make social impact part of their daily routine. Their flagship product, Tab for a Cause, has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for non-profits around the world. His work has spanned product design, advertising, business development, and marketing, and he is particularly interested in how software can foster empathy and promote social good.

Originally from Wisconsin, Kevin earned a degree in Biology from [Grinnell College](/org/grinnell-college) and moved to the Bay Area in 2012. (Of note, he misses Midwestern summer thunderstorms.) In his free time, Kevin enjoys walking his dog on the Bay Trail with his partner, playing board games, and tinkering with side projects.

Kevin Jennison

Donna has provided nursing and case management services at many of our local medical centers, including Kaiser Redwood City, Sequoia Hospital, Mills-Peninsula Hospital, and San Mateo Medical Center's acute care hospital. While at San Mateo Medical Center, Donna was exposed to a wide variety of health care experiences, including floor nursing and clinic based services, work in the locked psych unit, discharge planning, and case management. Donna received her RN/ADN from the College of San Mateo.

During the past few years, Donna has served on the Downtown San Mateo Association (DSMA) Board of Directors and provided care for elder family members. In her free time, Donna enjoys travel and horseback riding with her husband. Donna has resided in San Mateo County for over fifty years, where she and her husband raised their now two adult children. Donna wholeheartedly believes in the work of Caminar to educate the community and erase the stigma of mental illness.

Donna Barulich

Michael is a partner at PwC based out of the Silicon Valley Office with more than 20 years of experience working in the technology industry.  Michael’s overarching focus is on connection, and he is driven by a desire to connect with and understand his clients and their issues, opportunities, and direction.

Michael brings that same focus on connection to Caminar. He was introduced to the organization via the Family & Children Services of Silicon Valley (FCS) division. He was a long-time supporter and a member of the FCS finance committee. When Caminar and FCS merged, Michael remained committed to the organization and on the finance committee. He joined the Caminar board of directors in December 2020.

Michael holds a BA in Accounting and a MPAcc from the [University of Washington](/org/university-of-washington) and is also a CPA licensed to practice in California. On a personal note, he and his wife have three children. Together, they enjoy hiking, biking, cooking, and spending time in the pool.

Michael Chinn

Tze was born in Malaysia and later educated in Singapore and Canada.  After graduating from Ivey Business School, London, Ontario, Tze returned to Malaysia and started her career in property development corporations where she worked for a decade before returning to head the family property business.  Her experience is in the fields of shopping malls, residential, commercial, and resort projects. 

Since moving to the Bay Area in 2010, Tze has been assisting her husband in his Defense Electronics Business. She has served on the Advisory Board at the Stanford Asian Liver Center since 2013.

Tze Pin Tai

Suzan is a lifelong coast-side resident and Realtor for over 30 years.  In 2013 she was elected President of the San Mateo County Association of REALTORS® Foundation (SAMCAR) and is a consistent SAMCAR award winner.  Suzan has been on Caminar's board since September 2013.

Suzan Getchell - Wallace

With over 20 years of experience in the behavioral health field, Amanda has worked with a wide variety of populations and settings: from young children with developmental delays to adolescents with trauma backgrounds to adults in crisis.

She has held various leadership roles for non-profit and for-profit organizations. As vice president for a large non-profit agency in California, Amanda oversaw such programs as adult and adolescent crisis residential facilities, Veterans programs, homeless and housing programs, outpatient alcohol and other drugs (AOD) and jail programs, intellectual disability residential and outpatient programs, and county and managed care mental health crisis stabilization programs.

Amanda has experience in program development and implementation, budget management, compliance, and clinical oversight and training. She has served on the board of a start-up program for foster care youth and has recently worked with the County of Marin in the emergency operation center as the care and shelter chief working with the social service response to COVID-19.

Amanda Russell

Mary is a development and communications professional with 17+ years of experience in the nonprofit sector and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). She has worked for several well-known Bay Area agencies, including: Project Open Hand, Samaritan House of San Mateo, Mercy Housing California, Rubicon Programs, The Commonwealth Club of California and Glide Foundation. Mary has extensive experience in strategic partnership development with individuals, corporations, foundations, civic and community based organizations. Mary is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Golden Gate Chapter (AFP-GGC), the Northern California Planned Giving Council, the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners and she serves as a Patient Family Advisory Council member for the San Francisco Kaiser Permanente Medical Center and as a Regional Patient Centered Care Peer Advisor for Kaiser Permanente Northern California. Previously, she served as an Advisory Board member for Oasis for Girls in San Francisco, the Chair/Co-Chair of the AFP-GGC Mentoring Program, an Advisory Council Member of AFP's Multicultural Alliance Program and a Board member of the Friends of Sharon Art Studio. Mary lives in San Francisco with her husband, Tod, and two kitties, Baxter and Buster.

Mary Dunbar

Jerry Dattilo has been working with Caminar for over 18 years. As co-director of the Jobs Plus Program, he oversees all job coaching, assessments, and fee-for-service programs. Prior to joining Caminar, Jerry worked as a fundraising director and sales representative for various companies. Jerry has a Bachelor of Science from Chico State University and a Master of Public Administration from [San Jose State University](/org/san-jose-state-university).

Jerry Dattilo

Jo-Ann has held human resources management and executive leadership roles in the corporate sector, with responsibility for HR strategy, policies and legal compliance, talent acquisition, performance and compensation management, benefits administration, training and development, executive coaching, and workplace culture. Her experience spans a wide breadth of organizational life cycles. She held key senior positions at Marsh McLennan, Argonaut Insurance Company, and [Align Technology](/org/align-technology).

Jo-Ann has served on and led a number of nonprofit boards, where she led strategic planning and execution, strengthened board diversity and governance processes and practices, helped to develop strategic partnerships with other community-based organizations and government agencies, and worked closely with executive leadership and fundraising staff to advance individual and major donor development efforts. She is well networked with diverse community, government, and business leaders throughout San Mateo County.

Jo-Ann founded Transform Collaborative, a consulting practice specializing in nonprofit organizational and leadership development, in 2016, with the goal of helping San Mateo County’s most courageous nonprofit leaders and their teams design and implement breakthrough advancements in their services and contributions in support of the public good. She takes much of her inspiration in this work from a long family history of public service, beginning at the turn of the 20th century in Ireland. Today, Jo-Ann and her husband are strongly committed, with their two daughters, to continuing this lineage of action and advocacy for the fulfillment of the vital needs of marginalized populations and communities through their volunteerism and family philanthropy.

Jo-Ann holds a M.A. and B.A. in Speech Communications Studies and a B.S. in Business Administration from San Francisco State University. She represented the United States as a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholar to New Zealand to promote peace and foster international goodwill. There, she attended the University of Auckland, where she studied cultural anthropology and linguistics. Jo-Ann is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) and holds a lifetime designation as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). She earned certifications in Specialized Studies in Nonprofit Management through U.C. Irvine Extension Program and Human Resources Management through the U.C. Berkeley Extension Program, completed The Standards for Excellence, Ethics & Accountability Program through the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University, and is a graduate of the Community Advocates Leadership Academy through Green Foothills and Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. She is certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid by the San Mateo County Health Department and is a Yoga Alliance certified 

Jo-Ann Sockolov

Alex oversees Caminar’s finance and accounting operations. Alex brings to the organization expertise managing complex financial reporting, including the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures that comply with stringent funder requirements. A Certified Public Accountant, Alex most recently served as assistant controller for the [Presidio Trust](/org/presidio-trust), where he provided leadership in overseeing a budget in excess of $90M. Prior to his tenure at the [Presidio Trust](/org/presidio-trust), Alex worked in progressively senior roles in the finance departments of [BroadVision](/org/broadvision), Golden Gate University, and the California Culinary Institute. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Golden Gate University.
