Amani M. E. currently serves as an Associate Scientist at Canadian Light Source Inc. since December 2023. Previous experience includes roles as an X-ray Postdoctoral Researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and a Guest Researcher at Advanced Light Source, focusing on soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy and redox flow battery projects. Amani's postdoctoral research at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory involved using operando hard X-ray absorption spectroscopy for catalysis applications in plastic up-cycling. Amani completed a PhD in Chemical and Molecular Engineering at Stony Brook University, where research focused on nanomaterials for heterogeneous catalysis and energy applications. Amani’s academic engagement extends to mentoring female students in STEM through various programs and has included guest research positions at prestigious institutions such as Brookhaven National Laboratory and Argonne National Laboratory.
