Emily Neilson is a seasoned professional in humanitarian diplomacy and policy, currently serving as a Senior Advisor at the Canadian Red Cross since August 2018, with extensive experience in multiple roles including Community Engagement and Accountability Delegate, Officer in Humanitarian Diplomacy & Global Relations, and Senior Officer in International Operations Administration. Prior to this, Emily worked as a Strategic Planning Advisor at boMake Rural Projects and as a Program Support Worker at Help Lesotho, focusing on supporting projects for vulnerable populations. Earlier experience includes an internship at the Heart and Stroke Foundation and a Coordinator role at the YMCA of Greater Toronto. Emily holds a Master of Humanitarian Action degree from both Ruhr University Bochum and University College Dublin, along with qualifications in Fundraising and Volunteer Management from Humber College, and a BA HONS in International Studies and French from Glendon Campus of York University.
