Austin Petersmith has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Austin is currently the VP Growth & Community at Vendr since January 2023. Prior to this, they were a General Partner at Coughdrop Capital, a venture firm they co-founded with their brother in 2015. Austin was the Founder/CEO of Racket.com from January 2021 to December 2022, and before that, they founded and served as CEO of Capiche, a SaaS secret society that was acquired by Vendr. Austin also worked as a Board Advisor and later President & General Manager at Inside.com, a network of email newsletters, from 2014 to 2020. Additionally, Austin founded ReadThisThing, an email newsletter that curated journalism pieces and was acquired by Inside.com. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Developer Evangelist at Assembly, Inc. and Appcelerator, and as a Reporter for various publications. Austin also served as a Production assistant at Stuart-Rodgers Photography and was a Production intern at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
Austin Petersmith attended the University of Montana from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. Austin further pursued their education at Northwestern University from 2010 to 2011, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Journalism.
