Jonas Goltermann is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in market strategy and macroeconomic analysis. Currently serving as Deputy Chief Markets Economist at Capital Economics since April 2019, Jonas focuses on G10 and major emerging market currencies and rates, contributing to forecasts of key equity indices and bond markets. Previously, during tenure as Developed Market Economist at ING, Jonas led macroeconomic coverage for developed markets and the Nordic region. At the Bank of England, between October 2014 and October 2017, critical responsibilities included leading the banking sector analysis and conducting macroeconomic forecasting for policy decisions. Earlier experience at DFID involved advising on economic development aid and managing relationships with the European Investment Bank while focusing on Libya, Morocco, and Tunisia. Jonas holds a Master of Arts in European Economic Studies from the College of Europe and a Master of Science in Economics from The University of Edinburgh, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University.
