Lucy Chappel began their work experience as a Research Assistant at Northumbria University in 2017. During their time there, they worked independently to create a library of compounds based on Nitrogen mustard derivatives, which contributed to a publication on potential anti-cancer agents.

In 2018, Lucy worked as a Seasonal Sales Associate at John Lewis & Partners.

Lucy then joined Frontiers in 2019, starting as a Junior Journal Specialist and later transitioning to the role of Journal Specialist. Lucy Chappel's education history is as follows:

From 2018 to 2019, Lucy attended the University of York, where they pursued an MSc in Green Chemistry and Sustainable Industrial Technology. Lucy'sfield of study was Chemistry.

Prior to that, from 2014 to 2018, Lucy attended the University of Glasgow and completed a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry. Chemistry was their field of study during this period as well.

Additionally, in 2015 to 2016, Lucy studied Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

In terms of additional certifications, Lucy obtained the CPD-certified Green Champions Training: Foundation Modules from Zero Waste Scotland in March 2022. In March 2021, they completed a course on Learning to Be Assertive at LinkedIn. In April 2020, Lucy completed a course on Communication within Teams, also on LinkedIn.

Outside of their academic pursuits, Lucy obtained their driving license from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in September 2017. It is also mentioned that they achieved Grade 7 in Piano from ABRSM, although the specific date of obtaining this qualification is not mentioned.
