Susan Midha

Director of Human Resources at Cardiff University

Susan Midha is Director of Human Resources.

The department contributes to the University’s objectives through the development and delivery of HR policies, providing advice on all HR-related matters, supporting individual, team and organisational development and acting as a centre of excellence in the promotion of the health and safety of staff, students and visitors.

Having graduated from Swansea University with a degree in Psychology, Sue joined Rolls-Royce in 1987 as a graduate trainee on their Industrial Relations & Training and Development Scheme; following which she held substantive Training and Industrial Relations roles with the company.

In 1991, Sue moved into the education sector - joining Cardiff University as Training and Development Officer. She was appointed to the role of Director of Staff and Organisational Development in 2010, and then HR Director in 2014. Her key responsibility is to lead on the development of the University’s people strategy, with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

Sue is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and Vice Chair of the National Executive of Universities HR, the professional association for HR professionals working in Higher education.
