Causality Link Adds Craig Trim as Senior Software Engineer - NLP

Causality Link Adds Craig Trim as Senior Software Engineer - NLP, Causality Link

Causality Link, a provider of advanced AI-driven investment technology, announced that Craig Trim has joined the company as Senior Software Engineer - Natural Language Processing (NLP).

At Causality Link, Trim will lead efforts to enhance the company’s Research Assistant, including increasing the number of data sources ingested, the speed at which the data is processed, and the insights garnered from the data.

Trim is a veteran software engineer and natural language processing expert and has contributed to at least 200 patents over his 20-year career. He has spent the majority of his career with IBM, where he joined as an intern in 2000 and most recently served as a senior managing consultant. He also worked as the lead engineer for formal offerings in IBM’s Watson Group. Trim was also the Chief Technology Officer for Dristi, a cognitive computing company.

In a press release, CEO and Co-Founder of Causality Link Pierre Haren said, “Craig is a true trailblazer in the NLP space. During his prolific tenure at IBM, he pioneered the use of NLP in ontology learning to look for relationships between data, which is a critical part of our operation. We are thrilled to bring this inventive thinking to Causality Link as we drive our technology to the next level.”

Trim stated, “Causality Link is an exciting melding of tried and true technology and cutting-edge innovation that is rare to find and has been instrumental in their success thus far. I look forward to developing and implementing ways to propel the platform even further to gather more insights from more sources in less time.”

Causality Link Names Antoine Mallard as VP of Portfolio Management

Causality Link Names Antoine Mallard as VP of Portfolio Management

Causality Link, a provider of advanced AI-driven investment technology, announced that it has hired Antoine Mallard as Vice President of Portfolio Management. At Causality Link, Mallard will guide the firm’s software development as well as to drive sales efforts with asset managers in the UK. He will also provide strategic guidance to help refine the company’s platform to better suit the needs of the buy side and facilitate the discovery and delivery of the intelligence needed by asset managers to generate higher returns and lower drawdowns. In addition to his role at Causality Link, Mallard will continue as a professor at Cambridge University and other leading European business schools. Prior to joining Causality Link, Mallard co-founded Ai.VEN Partners, an impact fund specializing in artificial intelligence. He also served as the Chief Investment Officer at D’Alembert Capital and a senior portfolio manager at Concordia Advisors in London. Earlier in his career, he held various specialist and management roles at highly-regarded firms including Credit Suisse, Apax Partners, and Credit Agricole. In a press release, Causality Link CEO and Co-Founder Pierre Haran stated, “We are leading a revolution in the way research is done and distributed, and we are proud to have an accomplished buy-side industry veteran like Antoine join the team. Our technology is uncovering the actionable intelligence the buy side is looking for and we now have Antoine’s expertise and guidance to get this information where it needs to go and in a way that makes it as understandable and actionable as possible.” Mallard said, “The unique beauty of Causality Link is that the original ideas its technology unearths are often contrarian to market beliefs and go far beyond a mere sentiment indication. The platform eliminates any randomness and biases in idea generation and finds the very best – and many times, undiscovered – investment ideas at the core of any market-beating strategies. Having built my career on looking beyond the status quo in search of more efficiency (often technology-led) to solve real-life challenges, I am excited to use my experience to help drive the platform forward.”
