Igor Elbert has a varied work experience in the field of data science and technology. Igor began their career in 2006 as a Founding Partner at Common Sensor, LLC. From there, they went on to work as the Director of Software Engineering at Operative, Inc. in 2008. In 2010, they joined Aster Data as a Senior Consultant, where they led the deployment of the Aster MPP database for high-profile clients such as Barnes & Noble and Gilt. In 2011, they became the VP of Quantitative Analytics at Barnes & Noble before transitioning to the role of Distinguished Data Scientist at Gilt Groupe in 2013. At Gilt Groupe, they worked on predictive shipping experiments and was recognized in industry conferences. In 2016, they became the Head of Data Science at Tapad, leading a team of data scientists and implementing innovative NLP techniques. In 2018, they joined Finery as the Chief Data Scientist, where they developed groundbreaking data science applications and led a team of data scientists. Since 2019, they have taken on advisory roles at CB Insights, DataGenie, and NYC Data Science Academy.

Igor Elbert completed their undergraduate studies at Ukraine National University from 1984 to 1991, earning a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics. After completing their MSc, they pursued further education at the Kiev Institute for Cybernetics Aspiranture, where they worked towards a PhD in Computer Science.
