Nuclear Engineer - Irradiated Waste Coordinator at CEA

Matías Alvarez Gomez is a skilled nuclear waste and measurement engineer currently responsible for managing nuclear waste and measurements at a solid nuclear waste management facility (INB 72) at CEA Saclay since December 2021. Prior experience includes serving as an engineer in simulation and nuclear measurements at Subatech, where simulation of radiological properties was conducted using Monte Carlo (Serpent2), and as a research and development intern at the National Commission of Atomic Energy (CNEA), focusing on developing a device for separating hydrogen from gaseous radioactive waste. Matías holds a Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from IMT Atlantique, a Master's degree in Nuclear Science and Technology from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, an engineer's degree in Nuclear Engineering from Instituto Balseiro, and an engineer's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Nacional del Comahue, along with demonstrated competencies in experimental laboratory work.
