VP, Community Relations and College Advancement
Chris Ann Szep returned to Cecil College in 2006 to assume the role of vice president of institutional advancement and government relations, having previously served as the director of both the community health coalition Project CARD and the Family Education Center. In 2016, Szep was given the responsibility of a newly-formed division and became the vice president of community and government relations and college advancement.
Vice president Szep provides leadership and strategic direction for the Cecil College Foundation, Marketing, Athletics, Facilities, Public Safety and the Milburn Stone Theatre. Szep created the college’s government relations program and advocates for the needs of Cecil College and the County at the local, state and federal level.
Szep was the inaugural recipient of the Cecil County’s Athena Leadership Award and played an integral role in drafting the County’s charter form of government and advocating for the adoption of charter government. Szep earned her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and her master’s degree from Wilmington University.
