Samuel Quiroga

Samuel Quiroga is a seasoned professional in the field of geophysics and data science, currently serving as a Senior Data Science Advisor at Cenovus Energy since July 2009. In this role, Samuel developed machine learning models to predict downhole instrumentation failures and designed survival models for analyzing equipment lifespan. Prior to this, Samuel held the position of Senior Geophysicist at Cenovus Energy, where advanced data analysis and modeling were applied to optimize thermal recovery operations. Early career experiences include a summer stint as a Geophysicist at Encana Corporation and work as a Student Geophysicist at WorleyParsons, focusing on soil contamination mapping. Samuel holds both an MSc in Geophysics with a specialization in Reservoir Characterization and a BSc in Geophysics, both from the University of Calgary.
