Kia Johnson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in language and literacy education. Currently serving as the Director of the PreK-12 Language and Literacy Division at the Center for Applied Linguistics since September 2022, Kia coordinates professional development services and fosters partnerships with organizations and agencies to enhance educational practices. Prior roles include CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Resume Revamp, providing career consulting and document creation services from June 2012 to March 2023, and serving as an EL Assessment and Title III Specialist at the Virginia Department of Education from April 2017 to September 2022. Additionally, Kia held positions as a Senior Evaluator at Western Governors University, where recognized for exceptional performance, and as a Lead ESL Teacher at Chesterfield County Public Schools, achieving a 100% pass rate on assessments. Kia holds multiple degrees, including a Doctor of Education focused on Educational Leadership for Social Justice from Loyola Marymount University.
