Michael Azar has extensive experience in enterprise architecture and healthcare informatics, currently serving as the Director and Chief Enterprise Architect for the Division of Enterprise Architecture at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services since August 2007. Previous roles at this agency include Deputy Director for both the Division of Enterprise Architecture and the Strategy Architecture Group, as well as Director for the Division of Policy, Program Integration and Governance. Prior to this, Michael Azar worked at Johns Hopkins University as a Nursing Informatics Instructor and held the position of Division Director of Clinical-Financial Systems at the National Naval Medical Center. Michael Azar holds a Certified Enterprise Architect credential from Carnegie Mellon University, a Master of Science in Nursing Informatics from the University of Maryland Baltimore, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Science from Kent State University.
