Dean Sanpei

Dean Sanpei is the SVP & Chief Strategy Officer at Centura Health Corporation. Dean has over fifteen years of experience in strategic planning and healthcare administration.

Dean Sanpei began their career in 2003 as Vice President of Strategy at Intermountain Healthcare. In this role, they were responsible for the strategic planning of Intermountain Healthcare's $8B budget, 22 hospitals, 1400 employed physicians, and a health plan with over 600,000 members. Dean was a key strategist for the conceptualization and implementation of a large integrated healthcare delivery system's transformation to a population health care focused system. This transformation resulted in strategic positioning to thrive despite major industry transitions.

In 2010, Dean became a Representative for the Utah State Legislature. Dean served as Chairman of the executive appropriations committee in the House of Representatives, in charge of developing, allocating, and managing the $15.1B annual state budget. Dean played an integral role in ensuring that the state of Utah remains among a small minority of states with AAA credit ratings by implementing strategies which included increasing the budget reserves by $500M and decreasing the state debt by over $330M.

As SVP & Chief Strategy Officer at Centura Health Corporation, Dean is responsible for leading the development and execution of Centura Health's strategy. Under their leadership, Centura Health has become a national leader in delivering high-quality, cost-effective healthcare services.

Dean Sanpei holds a Masters in Public Administration from Brigham Young University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
