San Jorge Basin Reservoir Engineer Manager at CGC

Gerardo Cortes is an accomplished reservoir engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as the San Jorge Basin Reservoir Engineer Manager at CGC since September 2023, Gerardo oversees the development of mature oil and gas fields in Argentina, focusing on optimizing production through various waterflooding projects. Prior to CGC, Gerardo held the position of Gas Hub Reservoir Manager at Ecopetrol, where successful evaluations led to significant new discoveries. Additionally, Gerardo managed a team at Ecopetrol responsible for developing key gas fields, accounting for 90% of Colombia's gas production. Gerardo’s previous roles include leadership positions at YPF, ConocoPhillips, Schlumberger, Chevron, and Petrobras, and Gerardo holds a Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires.
