Gary Coleman

Gary Coleman is a seasoned veterinary pathologist with extensive experience in evaluating toxicologic safety studies and managing pathology activities across multiple organizations. Currently serving as a Senior Veterinary Pathologist at Charles River Laboratories since April 2016, Gary specializes in both non-GLP and GLP studies, including carcinogenicity studies. Prior roles include Director and Associate Director of Pathology at WIL Research, where responsibilities spanned staffing and scientific direction at sites in Ashland, OH, and Hillsborough, NC. Gary's earlier positions included significant leadership roles in the U.S. Army Medical Department and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, focusing on veterinary pathology and chemical-biological defense. Educational credentials include a PhD in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, as well as degrees in Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University and Human Resources Management from Boston University.
