David Bell

David Bell, FAIA, is the Founder and President of BELL Architects, PC, a firm specializing in the rehabilitation of historic properties, adaptive reuse, accessibility upgrades, and sustainable design. Since August 1999, David has focused on deep energy retrofits and urban infill projects while providing LEED and historic preservation consulting. With a background in ice hockey starting from youth coaching in 1990, David also holds a long-standing role as an Ice Hockey Coach at Chevy Chase Club. David's professional leadership includes serving as Co-Chair of the High Performance Building Committee at AIA DC, promoting Net-Zero Energy Buildings by 2030, and holding positions such as Director of the DC Preservation League and President of Cultural Tourism DC. David is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a B. Arch in Architecture and furthered education at Goethe Institut-Berlin.
