Darlene Mitrano

Darlene Mitrano is an accomplished Associate Professor of Biology and Neuroscience at Christopher Newport University since August 2012, where responsibilities include teaching various Biology and advanced Neuroscience courses and leading a lab focused on neuroanatomical correlates of drug abuse. Prior to this, Mitrano was a Visiting Lecturer in Neuroscience at Georgia State University and an Adjunct Instructor at Agnes Scott College. Experience also includes serving as a FIRST Postdoctoral Fellow at Emory University, performing research on drug abuse, and teaching at Spelman College. Educational background includes a PhD in Molecular & Systems Pharmacology from Emory University and a BS in Psychology from Washington and Lee University.
