Chris MacDonald

Chief Scientific Officer at ChromaCode

Chris MacDonald has a diverse work experience, starting in 2003 as a Teacher at Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions. In 2005, they became a Software Engineer at IQBio Labs (Now Somaxis), where they designed and implemented signal processing algorithms. Chris then joined the University of Sydney as a Fulbright Fellow, conducting research on biomaterials using plasma processing techniques. In 2006, they joined the University of California as a Graduate Student, focusing on computational modeling and unsupervised learning in neuroscience. During this time, they also received grants, fellowships, and published several papers. In 2011, Chris MacDonald joined Illumina as a Senior Manager, Engineering, Process Development, where they led the development of an analytics platform and worked on quality control processes. Since 2017, they have been working at ChromaCode, Inc. as the Chief Scientific Officer, focusing on diagnostic solutions that improve patient results, enhance physicians' access to information, and reduce healthcare costs through data science and biochemistry.

Chris MacDonald has a PhD in Bioengineering from UC San Diego. Chris also has a B.S. in Engineering Physics and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University. Additionally, they hold a Certificate in Business Analytics from The Wharton School. Chris is certified as a Biomedical Auditor by ASQ - World Headquarters, and they also have a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the same institution.
