SVP, Cloud Platform & Solutions Group at Cisco

Kip Compton is currently the SVP of the Cloud Platform & Solutions Group at Cisco. Previously, they worked at Comcast from January 2003 to December 2006 as the VP of Video/Media. Kip was brought in to help shift Comcast into a technology leadership position in the industry and built a team of around 100 technologists. The systems implemented at Comcast resulted in new services, lower capital, and operating costs, serving 25M+ Comcast video subscribers; technologies subsequently adopted more broadly and many have become industry standards. Some of their key accomplishments include driving the re-architecture of all major video & networking systems to use modern/open technologies (VOD, Set-top box, security, CDN, Internet/Cable Modems etc.), being a key player on the team responsible for a $1 billion licensing venture between Comcast and Motorola Inc., and being awarded 9 patents personally with the group earning dozens.

Kip Compton has a MBA with honors in Strategic Management from The Wharton School, a Masters in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelors in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Kip also has a High School Diploma in Computer Science from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

Kip Compton reports to Jonathan Davidson, SVP & GM, Cisco Mass-Scale Infrastructure.
