Al Grainger is an accomplished Operational Excellence Leader and Lean Transformation Expert with over two decades of experience driving global transformations across various industries. Currently serving as the Business Process, Systems, and Information Technology Manager for the City of Maple Ridge, Al is leading initiatives to modernize development and permitting systems while promoting sustainable operational excellence. Previously, Al held roles such as Continuous Improvement Director at Panevo Services Limited and Senior Project Lead at Suncor Energy, where Al implemented significant process improvements and achieved multimillion-dollar savings. In addition to practical expertise, Al has authored multiple books on Lean leadership and problem solving, contributing to a wealth of knowledge in the field. Al's extensive educational background includes a focus on Change Management from Mount Royal University and ongoing studies in Accounting and Financial Planning.
