David Cohen

David Cohen serves as a Councilmember for the City of San José, elected in November 2020 and assuming office on January 1, 2021, representing District 4. Prior to this role, David held the position of Senior Manager in Reactor Modeling at Lam Research for over 20 years, leading a team focused on process modeling in various chemical engineering applications. Additional experience includes serving as a Governing Board Member for the Berryessa Union School District and as a Director for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). David began his career as a Process Development Engineer at Clorox. Academically, David holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University.
