Keith Blocker

Council Member at City of Tacoma

Council Member Keith Blocker was elected to the District 3 seat of the Tacoma City Council in 2015. He is currently a managing partner at Archway Consulting Group, where he assists organizations in becoming more diverse and inclusive. He currently sits on the city's Government Performance and Finance Committee, the Tacoma-Pierce County Board of Health, and he serves as Chair of the city's Community Vitality and Safety Committee.

Since joining the council in 2016, he has led efforts to invest more resources to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness. He worked with the community, city staff and council colleagues to strengthen tenant protections, he also has supported budget proposals to hire more police officers and firefighters. Over the past three years, a substantial number of residential streets in Council Member Blocker's district have been repaired and he was a leading voice in advocating for the city to establish an immigrant legal defense fund.

Council Member Blocker works hard for the residents within District 3, because he recognizes that we need more good-paying jobs, more housing that our residents can afford, additional support to our homeless neighbors as well as ensure that city resources are accessible and equitably distributed. Council Member Blocker’s devotion to improving our community has earned him the City Club of Tacoma's Dennis Seinfeld’s Emerging Leadership Award and the Business Masters Exchange Club of Pierce County Golden Deeds Award. He is also a senior fellow of the American Leadership Forum. To help keep residents informed, Council Member Blocker also produces a District 3 Community Newsletter.
