Fiona Hughes

Fiona Hughes is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in various roles within the public and private sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Communications Specialist for Engineering Services in Transportation at the City of Vancouver since July 2019, Fiona previously held the position of Communications Specialist in the same department. Prior experience includes working as an Independent Contractor, providing communications consulting and freelance writing services, as well as a Communications Specialist at Vancouver Coastal Health, where Fiona led major projects such as Foundry North Shore and the Carlile Youth Concurrent Disorders Centre. Additionally, Fiona contributed as a writer to The Vancouver Sun and consulted on media relations for Metro Vancouver Medical Health Officers during the 2015 Transportation Referendum. Early career roles include serving as Assistant Editor and Arts Editor at Vancouver Courier. Fiona holds a BA in French from Acadia University, along with other certifications in French from Langara College and Université de Provence.
