Ivana Zelenika

Ivana Zelenika is a dedicated professional with extensive experience in sustainability and waste management. Currently serving as the Recycling Coordinator for the City of Vancouver since July 2019, Ivana focuses on developing educational programs and public initiatives to promote waste diversion and zero waste practices. Previous roles include Community Events & Outreach with the Zero Waste Team, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at UBC Department of Psychology, where Ivana led research on the effects of scarcity on cognition. With a solid foundation in sustainability from positions at UBC Botanical Garden and as a Zero Waste Coordinator at The University of British Columbia, Ivana has successfully executed various community engagement projects, conducted rigorous research, and contributed to the design of impactful sustainability strategies. Ivana holds a Ph.D. in Resource Management and Sustainability from The University of British Columbia, along with a Master's in Environmental Studies from Queen's University and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from Carleton University.
