Josh White

Josh White currently serves as the General Manager of Planning, Urban Design & Sustainability and Director of Planning for the City of Vancouver, overseeing a diverse range of functions within the department. Previously, Josh held various leadership positions at the City of Calgary, including Director of City & Regional Planning, where responsibilities encompassed planning policies and multidisciplinary team leadership. Other roles in Calgary included Acting Director of Calgary Growth Strategies and Director of Calgary Approvals Coordination, managing complex planning and approval processes. Prior to Calgary, Josh was the General Manager of Development at Dream Unlimited, successfully leading planning and design for land development projects. Josh began a professional career as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of the Mayor for the City of Calgary and as an Urban Planner at Urban Strategies, Inc. Educational background includes a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Urban Studies from the University of Toronto.
