James Platt

James Platt is a seasoned urban planning professional with extensive experience in various roles and organizations. Currently a Senior Planner at the City of Winnipeg since May 2013 and a Board Member of the Inland Port Special Planning Authority since June 2022, James engages in significant planning activities including hearings for development plans and zoning by-law amendments. Academic contributions include roles as an Adjunct Professor and Sessional Instructor at the University of Manitoba, and previous positions as Regional Manager for Community and Regional Planning and Planner with the Province of Manitoba. With a solid foundation in GIS and planning from notable educational institutions, James holds multiple degrees including a Master’s in City Planning from the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor’s in Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson University.
