Dr. Sharon E. Sutton

Dr. Sharon E. Sutton, FAIA, serves as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Parsons School of Design - The New School since January 2018 and has held various academic positions at the University of Washington, including Professor Emerita and Professor since February 1997. Dr. Sutton has been a member of the City University of New York since 1982 and is active as a Chapter Member of AIA New York | Center for Architecture since August 2016, as well as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects since 1983. Prior experience includes serving as Director of the University of Washington Center for Environment Education and Design Studies from 1998 to June 2016 and as Co-design Facilitator for the Brooklyn College Community Partnership in 2014. Dr. Sutton holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation, a PhD in Psychology from The City University of New York, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Hartford Hartt College of Music.
