Yuta Watanabe

Co-Founder & CTO at Civitas

Yuta Watanabe is a Japanese businessman and software engineer who is currently the co-founder and CTO of Civitas. Yuta has previously worked for companies such as Microsoft, Social Recruiting, and Emwarp.

Watanabe began their career as an intern at Microsoft in 2006, before being promoted to CTO of Farpeace in 2009. Yuta then moved on to work as an intern at Social Recruiting in 2011, before being promoted to Development Manager the following year.

In 2012, Watanabe returned to Microsoft as a Technical Evangelist. In this role, they were responsible for disseminating information about app development and building partnerships with development companies. Yuta also helped support startups and worked to nurture young engineers.

In 2015, Watanabe left Microsoft to become an Executive Officer at Interest Marketing. In this role, they oversaw the company's app and web development outsourcing business as well as new business ventures. Yuta also opened up an application development team in Vietnam.

Watanabe is now working on Civitas, a startup that they co-founded in 2016. Civitas is a social media platform that allows users to connect with their local government officials.
