Douwe van der Meer

Douwe van der Meer is a seasoned geoscience professional with extensive experience in the oil and gas sector, currently serving as a Senior Geoscience Advisor at CNOOC International since September 2011. With a strong background in exploratory project management across Africa, Europe, and Latin America, Douwe has previously held roles that include leading teams in the evaluation of oil and gas opportunities and overseeing farm-in projects in various regions. Prior roles at Shell involved assessing hydrocarbon potential globally, while earlier positions focused on operations geophysics and basin evaluations. Douwe's academic credentials include a PhD in Geophysics from Utrecht University, where ongoing post-doctoral research is currently being pursued.
