Thomas Kamiya

VP Student Engagement at Commerce Undergraduate Society

Thomas Kamiya is the Vice President of Student Engagement at the Commerce Undergraduate Society of the University of British Columbia Vancouver. Thomas has held this position since September 2019, and is responsible for ensuring that students have an optimal student experience during their year at Sauder while spearheading a safe transition back to in-person activities.

Prior to their current role, Thomas worked as a Personal Banking Associate at BMO Financial Group from May 2021 to August 2021. Before that, they were a Commerce Caller at the UBC Sauder School of Business from January 2021 to May 2021. Thomas has also held the role of Retail Sales Associate at Canucks Sports & Entertainment (CSE).

In September 2017, Thomas began working as a Minor Test Shopper at Fraser Health Authority, a position they held until April 2019.

Thomas Kamiya received a Bachelor of Commerce from the UBC Sauder School of Business. Thomas also has a certification from Bloomberg LP in Bloomberg Market Concepts.

They work with Pavan Khiani - Information Technology Director, Bernice Favis - Creative Marketing Director, and Scott Langille - BUCS Coordinator. Their manager is Kristian Oppenheim, President.
