Simon Jawitz

Simon Jawitz is the current Chief Information Officer at Common. Prior to this, they were a Special Professor of Law at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University from April 2015 to December 2017, where they taught accounting and finance for lawyers. From March 2014 to April 2022, they served on the Board of Directors for Bank Leumi USA, where they were also a member of the Executive Committee of the Board, Chairman of the Risk Management, Investment and Compliance Committee of the Board, and a Member of the Loan Committee of the Board. In addition, they were a Senior Managing Director at Sierra Real Estate from February 2013 to April 2014, where they focused on acquisitions of both residential and commercial (office and retail) properties for the firm and its clients, as well as financing issues related to all facets of the real estate business. Simon has also been an Adjunct Professor in the Dep't of Finance at Zarb School of Business, Hofstra University from April 2012 to May 2016, and a Board Member & Senior Advisor at Growth Philanthropy Network from December 2008 to September 2015. Lastly, they were President at Fifth Avenue Equity LLC from May 2014 to June 2015.

Simon Jawitz attended the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where they earned their Doctor of Law (J.D.), cum laude. Simon also attended Brandeis University, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), magna cum laude.
