Dawson Lightfoot

Dawson Lightfoot is a Registered US Patent Attorney with extensive experience in Intellectual Property and Cybersecurity Law. Since February 2015, Dawson has served as an Attorney at Lightfoot & Alford PLLC and has also held a position at Red Hat Law™ since October 2021, specializing in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Law. In addition to legal practice, Dawson is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Texas A&M University School of Law, teaching courses on Cybersecurity Risk, Cybersecurity Law, and related subjects. Active in professional organizations, Dawson serves as a Council Member for the Computer & Technology Section of the State Bar of Texas and is a member of InfraGard and the North Texas ISSA. As the founder of the Park Cities Amateur Radio Club® and the Vice President Legal for the Texas Mu Chapter Alumni Board of Directors of Sigma Phi Epsilon, Dawson is also involved with various community and youth-centered initiatives, including serving as an Associate Advisor for the Boy Scouts of America. Dawson's academic background includes a Jurisprudence Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
