Luigi Ballabio

Luigi Ballabio is an accomplished professional in quantitative finance, currently serving as Head of Quant Development at Confluence's Milan office since October 2019, where responsibility includes managing a quantitative development group and contributing to the design of C++ financial libraries and related support code. Co-founder of the open-source project QuantLib since September 2000, Luigi plays a key role as administrator and lead developer, providing a comprehensive software framework for the industry. Additionally, Luigi has extensive experience as a trainer and speaker, conducting training sessions on QuantLib for various banks and companies across multiple countries. Previously, Luigi held the position of Head of Quant Development at StatPro from May 2000 to October 2019 and was involved in the development of financial libraries for risk and pricing applications. Early career experience includes being a Quantitative Developer at Caboto Holding, contributing to the pricing and hedging system for fixed-income trading. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Physics from Uppsala University and a B.Sc. in Physics from Università degli Studi di Milano.
