Jaap Otto has worked for several companies since 2010. Jaap began their career as a Verkoopmedewerker at Dockers Europe in 2010, followed by an Assistent-verkoper role at Macintosh Fashion Nederland in 2012. Jaap then worked as a Horeca medewerker at Bagels & Beans from 2013 to 2016. During that time, they also held a Stagiair role at ING. In 2017, Jaap Otto took on a Trainee role at Weekend van de Wetenschap and a Bedrijfsleider role at Bagels & Beans. From 2018 to 2021, they worked as a Key Account Manager and Duurzaamheidsadviseur at Klimaatroute, and currently holds an Account Executive role at Contentoo.

Jaap Otto attended the Fons Vitae Lyceum from 2005 to 2010, where they obtained a Havo Diploma in Economics in June 2010. Jaap then attended the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 2013 to 2017, where they received a Bachelorgraad in Marketing / Commerciële economie (CE) - Specialisatie marketing management. Additionally, they received a Bachelor Commerciële Economie from the Hogeschool van Amsterdam in September 2014.
