Barry Smith

Partner at CFGI

Barry brings over 20 years of accounting, transaction advisory, private equity, and financial operations experience to CFGI. He began his career at Ernst & Young where he spent seven years, primarily as a member of the Transaction Advisory Services practice, and served many of the firm’s top private equity and strategic acquirers. Before joining CFGI, Barry was a principal investor at Entrepreneur Partners, a Philadelphia-based middle-market private equity firm, where he was involved in all aspects of the firm’s platform and add-on investment processes. In addition to his transaction assessment and execution responsibilities, Barry served as Chief Financial Officer of the firm’s portfolio companies.

Barry holds a B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University, where he also served as Captain of the Division I Men’s Soccer Team. Barry is actively involved in community service and currently serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee (Finance Chair) of Make-A-Wish Foundation, a non-profit focused on granting wishes to children diagnosed with critical illnesses. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Street Soccer USA, a social impact organization that builds the grassroots capacity of soccer in urban areas intending to transfer life skills to and create a social safety net for participants in underserved communities.

Barry is the proud father of five boys and enjoys spending family time on the beach in Sea Isle City, NJ when he is not coaching soccer, baseball or basketball.
