Matt Pantera

With over 20 years of experience, Matt has a strong track record of providing effective finance and accounting solutions to his clients and is considered an expert in the financial services industry. Prior to joining CFGI, Matt worked for Deloitte, served as Director of Internal Control at MassMutual Financial Group, and Director of Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy at Sun Life Financial.

Matt brings valuable experience having led an Accounting Policy group on an interim basis to assist with the adoption of accounting guidance and regulation such as Accounting for Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL), the Long-duration contract targeted improvement standard (ASU 2018-12 or LDTI), and various International Financial Reporting Standards, including IFRS 17. He has also served in crucial roles at financial services companies where he was the interim Vice President of External Reporting and assisted with a variety of merger and acquisition initiatives, as well as the interim Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis overseeing large public company’s budgeting and forecasting processes. Additionally, while at CFGI, Matt has assisted various companies through the S-1 process including drafting the MD&A, financial statements, as well as accounting assistance related to financing transactions, earnings per share, preferred shares, and warrants along with various other technical accounting topics. Matt also has experience leading clients’ Internal Audit functions, and internal control related remediation efforts in numerous industries.

Matt is a Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts and Connecticut and holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Western New England University.
